Lefferts-Haughwout family genealogical research papers, 1901-1911, 1901-1903 (bulk)

Haughwout's papers were accumulated in the course of research for his 1903 Lefferts-Haughwout genealogy, and consist of his correspondence, 1901-1903 (one letter from 1911 relates to later genealogical work) with members of the Lefferts family, genealogical societies, and historical societies; and genealogical notes and genealogical charts. Of note is the fact that a number of Lefferts' correspondents, including Charles A. Lefferts of Charles A. Lefferts & Co. Iron Columns and Structural Castings, Brooklyn, N.Y., and John Lefferts of Lefferts Galvanizing Works and Tinning, New York City, were in the metal business. M.C. Lefferts, president of The Celluloid Company, New York City, is also a correspondent.
